It was a bright and sunny Monday morning; the leaves of the tree house blew lightly in the calm breeze. A purple unicorn fluttered her eyes awake as the sun penetrated the light pink curtains of her bedroom.

"Ugh" she moaned, turning her turn into the pillow. "That stallion lied to me, these curtains don't block sunlight. I must remember to send him a complain letter."

Chapter five: Party of red

An Appledash fic inspired by the short story "Of Horseshoes, Apples, and Feathers"

Celestia's sun beamed through the aged window, lighting up the red and gold striped room. The room was a simple layout, for an apple farmer that is. On one side of the room was a brown desk, it was an old one, passed through generations of apple family members. Next to it was the closet door, white in color with apples painted on it. The only outfit that rested in it was the tattered Gala dress of Applejack. The earth pony in particular was fast asleep on her green cover bed.

Well, this certainly came out of the blue. The originality for this is brilliant, we have all seen pony pirates before, Pip for instance, but never before have we seen a pirate Derpy. The vision is also great, the colors and props really add some depth to this picture, especially the clouds, those were a nice touch. Impact defiantly holds a Daaw factor, the filly Derpy just fits this perfectly, which is also aided by the expression and the eyes. The coloring technique you used here is simple, yet quite effective, especially in contrast to the complexity of the clouds. Overall, great piece
